Many of us could not stop asking: Am I addicted? If you ask this question often then the chances are that you are addicted.
We are leaving this question to the blog so you can be heard freely and anonymously. Addiction by itself is a form of sickness. However, it's often followed by a deep depression that throws one back to the addiction seeking a relief rather than getting high.
United States clearly loosing a "war on drugs" spending billions and having the highest incarceration rate of 10% in the whole industrial world! 50% of American African black children grow with a father as a role model. Some countries like Holland and Portugal treat addition problem as a social and healthcare problems instead of law enforcement. The use of cannabis did show a progression to hard drugs. Didn't we learn from The Prohibition? We trust our teenagers with lethal weapons in the Armed Forces giving them a license to kill at age of 18. At the same time, we do not trust them with alcohol and smoking marijuana. I'm not advocating a Portugal model allowing all drugs without any restrictions! But, having coffee houses based on a Dutch model allowing 5 gram of various strands of cannabis without serving alcohol is very civilized model in a controlled environment. I don't want even get into a taxation of this trade that runs in billions across the US at this downturn economy that desperately needs an influx of cash. What we have is an oppressive government running overcrowded jails and refuses to listen to their people. However, "People deserve their government". Our society and assembly laws allow for non-violent civil disobedience and direct contact with elected representative in Congress and Senate. Their jobs depends on your participation in election and signing petition that request a change in failing policy.

Depression hearts and it kills. If you have been depressed for a few weeks then do not wait and do not exercise your will power but rather seek immediately a professional healthcare advice and follow up on suggestions! Withdrawal could be severe manifesting itself in real physical pain in many vital points of the body. It definitely could be life threatening if not done under supervision. AAA and NA provide excellent group support almost around the clock.

Some of us forget that is quit normal for a teenager to have doubts, spells of anger and temporary feeling of being lost or depression as long it doesn't last more than a few weeks consistently and persistently.The caring friends or family should take in case of repeated remarks even indirect made about a suicide! Most of the people who had attempted it once will repeat the experience!

Mentally ill especially experiencing hallucionations and manic depressive swings my succumb into a deeper depression just when they feel better. The reason is simply a fear of another episode that gets worst and the loss of control is playing a major role in a suicide attempt. However! The Third Noble Truth of Buddha is a bold declaration that there's and end to suffering! And the solution is not in a coctail of different toxic drugs but rather in fully grasping the concept of "Letting Go!" Letting go of all unrealistic expectations and harmful behaviour.
