Poverty is a Crime against Humanity. It's not a zero sum game. Rich or Wealthy may find themselves facing a social unrest and brutal violence. Pushing poor to an edge prevents from this wealthy minority enjoying their assets, living in constant fear of kidnapping their children. Corporations carry a "kidnapping" insurance for the key employees which increases the cost of doing business. The solution is not in distributing wealth which is another form of violence or beefing up social services that cultivate a sick mind of expecting some benefits without a personal transformation requiring to adapt to the Global and Competitive reality. The role of government that is selected by large capital is rather providing an adequate infrastructure and affordable education and technical training. This is a win-win progress where the next step is to instill the land of law and constitution. International observers are required initially to conduct democratic elections. Jimmy Carter has proved the model as working scheme in developing countries. The main obstacle are layers of traditional bureaucracy and almost open bribery practice. We can see it clearly in India. If real reforms are not given the highest priority from the the very top then chances for a genuine change are extremely slim. |   Poverty!
Poverty is the first reason that obvious for a "naked" eye. Poverty is usually a social-political problem when a local government denies most of the population to participate in and get a fare share of local resources in terms of land, water, and commodities. Also, financing is almost unavailable for starting a small business.
However, lately some charity organizations and an Indian commercial bank CICI offer micro-loans in certain areas that had a profound effect on some population. It's obvious and especially painful in Africa where are plenty of various resources and fertile soil. Norway, for example, shares some of its oil revenue with its citizens in form of a mailed check on a regular basis. In Mexico case, based on the World Bank study, the people were given an opportunity to own their houses and accumulate some wealth passing to next generation. There's no reason for a social phenomena of being completely poor. It's not a zero sum game. It means we can eliminate it completely without any socialistic measures or a wealth distribution! Micro-Loan program has already proved as another way in resolving this terrible problem of being poor. It makes me feel sick observing some videos of starvation, neglect of seniors, or homeless. Luckily, a world is full of sensitive human beings who can't sleep after seeing the reality of human suffering.It's true that we have basic needs but that has to include the wright to education, mind and skills development. UNICEF has many ongoing initiatives some more successful than others, Missing Children Another initiative that should be addressed more heavily is Missing Children in Africa especially since they are kidnapped for only one purpose: to raise cool-blooded killers trained to mass killing without mercy and is always under influence of drugs and alcohol. If not saved early enough their brainwashing and drug addiction in a such early age become irreversible. "Think Globally but Act Locally!"
